| Job Title: | Construction Scuba Diver |
| Job Duties: | Work below surface of water using scuba equipment to inspect, repair, remove or install equipment & structures. Responsible for exploration, construction & inspection tasks. Use a variety of power tools, hand tools & welding equipment for marine & land piling construction projects. Comply with regulations or instructions concerning the use, maintenance & repair, and testing of all diving equipment for the operation. Operate, clean & maintain diving equipment (tanks, regulators, mask, fins, etc.) as required to support diving operations. Ensure completion of all diving record systems to comply with standards of operation, health & safety, and local & federal legal requirements. Conduct inland dives in relation to construction works, including in-water inspections using Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures, pier & pile installation & repair, ship's husbandry. Secure samples for testing, take photographs. Inspect underwater structures to identify problems with corrosion or deterioration. Conduct pre-dive inspections & safety protocols. While underwater, communicates with workers & teammates on the surface by using signal lines or telephones. Perform underwater & topside tasks in a safe & efficient manner. *Special wage rate: Work to be performed on DPRI-funded projects will be paid no less than the indicated wage rate, but may be paid more where special Davis-Bacon Act rates apply. |
