Job Title: Cook
Job Duties: Prepare, season & cook dishes such as soup, meats, vegetables or desserts in the restaurant. May order supplies, keep records & accounts, price items in menu or plan menu. Inspect & clean food preparation areas such as equipment& work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe & sanitary food handling practice. Make sure that all knives are sharp & clean & that all equipment in in working order. Ensure freshness of foods & ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old & new items & rotating stocks. Ensure food is stored & cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broiler, grills & roasters. Season & cook food according to recipes or personal judgement & experience. Turn or stir food to ensure even cooking
High School Diploma Required? Yes
Qualification Requirements: *Six months work related experience. *Valid food handler certificate from Dept of Public Health(applied equally both to US workers & CW-1 workers) *Valid police clearance(applied equally both to US workers & CW-1 workers) *Can work in flexible hours including holidays, weekends & night shift shifts. *with own means of transportation *Skilled in preparing Japanese cuisine including but not limited to sushi, sashimi & tempura *Skilled in cutting & preparations techniques for each type of fish used in sushi rolls as well as how to prepare sushi rice , sauces & seasoned ingredients.
