Job Title: | REFUSE & RECYCLABLE MATERIALS COLLECTOR |
Job Duties: | Collect garbage from buildings, businesses, and facilities as per schedule to ensure garbage is removed, transported, and disposed of according to set policies and procedures. Collect and dump refuse or recyclable materials from containers into the truck then dump at disposal sites. Assist with the operator of the garbage truck and can operate all equipment in a safe and effective way in disposing of all garbage. Provide manual labor assistance on various tasks and assignments. Inspect trucks prior to beginning routes to ensure safe operating conditions. Check road or weather conditions to determine how routes will be affected. Communicate with the dispatcher concerning delays, unsafe sites, accidents, equipment breakdown, or other maintenance problems. Drive trucks, following established routes and schedules in safe conditions, keeping traffic law and regulation through residential streets and alleys or through business or industrial areas. Operate automated or semi-automated hoisting devices that raise refuse bins and dump contents into openings in truck bodies. Inspect trucks prior to beginning routes to ensure safe operating conditions. Operate equipment that compresses collected refuse. |

Qualification Requirements: | Must have at least 12- months' experience. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Must be physically fit to perform the job. Must have knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. |
