Job Title: | Heavy Equipment Mechanic |
Job Duties: | . Repair, replace damaged or worn parts of heavy equipment 2. Operate, inspect equipment and diagnose defects. 3. Diagnose faults of malfunctions to define required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment like computerized test equipment calibration devices. 4. Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoist hand tools 5. Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment vehicles. 6. Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometer gauges 7. Assemble gear systems and align frame gears 8. Weld or solder broken parts and structural members 9. Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent 10. Adjust, maintain, and repair, or replace sub-assemblies like transmission crawler heads, using hand tools, jacks and cranes. |
