Job Title: | Maintenance and Repair Workers, General |
Job Duties: | Repairs and maintains physical structures of commercial and industrial establishment such as office buildings, apartment houses using hand tools and power tools. Replaces defective electrical switches and other fixtures. Paints structures and repairs woodwork with carpenter's tools. Repairs plumbing fixtures. Repairs plaster and lays bricks. Builds shed and other outbuildings. Perform landscaping and other related miscellaneous works. Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building system operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. Inspect motors and belt, check fluid levels,replace filters, or perform other maintenance following checklists. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools such as hammers, hoist, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instrument and electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blue prints, repair manuals, and parts catalogue as necessary. Inspect, operate and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Record type and cost maintenance and repair work. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoist, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned. |

Comments: | The job opportunity is temporary, full-time position commencing on October 01, 2020 to September 30, 2021, THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment.
