Job Duties: | 1. Medical Billing Standards: Follow coding policies based on coding conventions defined in the American Medical Association's CPT manual, national and local policies and edits, coding guidelines developed by national societies, analysis of standard medical and surgical practices, and a review of current coding practices. Adhere to the National Correct Coding Initiative Coding Policy Manual for Medicare Services to prevent improper payment when incorrect code combinations are reported. 2. Medical Record: Review each patients medical record to ensure the following: Accurate codes of all diagnoses using the International Classification of Disease (current version) Accurate billing for procedures using Current Procedural Terminology (current version published by the American Medical Association) 3. Medical claim processing: Operate medical software to prepare proper medical records and documents to facilitate requesting payment authorization from various insurance companies and employer. Record in patient file all or any received payment authorization. Prepare and submit accurate claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by using a Health Insurance Claim Form CMS 1500.Analyze and perform recovery billing functions in accordance to client's health plan/ provider contracts to ensure maximum reimbursement from health plan carriers, providers and patients in. Analyze and determine if certain medical services processed and paid by the company on the behalf of its clients are the liability of another party using the insurance explanation of benefits. Investigate and determine if paid services and/or Third Party Liability cases are the responsibility of another party. Re-file claims as needed. 4.Confidentiality:Collect and maintain confidentiality of all demographic and health information in accordance with the strict guidelines and regulations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. 5. Patient Billing: Maintain the payment records of all patients, track billing and monitor all collections. Make payment arrangements and collect on past due accounts. Identify and resolve patient billing complaints. Prepare, review and send patient statements. Research/audit patient accounts for further payment or adjustments Evaluate patient's financial status and establishes budget payment plans. Follow and report status of delinquent accounts. 6.General Duties: Processes payments from insurance companies and prepares a daily deposit. Answers questions from patients, clerical staff and insurance companies. Provides correspondence and telephone information regarding coding and provide concrete reply to the requests in a prompt and courteous manner. Performs daily backups on office computer system. Answer incoming patient, insurance company and physician office telephone calls. Promotes good relationships with other clinic and various insurance companies in order to achieve optimal working conditions. Demonstrates flexibility and willingly accepts responsibility, notifying supervisor when additional work can be assumed. Participate in educational activities and attends biweekly staff meetings Receives, evaluates and discusses suggestions and constructive criticism in a professional manner. Works effectively with others as a team member. Other duties as assigned. |

Comments: | The employer guarantees under paragraph (f)(1) to offer employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period of employment specified in the work contract, beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the employee at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any.
