Job Title: Deck Worker
Job Duties: Work under the immediate direction of the chief officer, carry out regular maintenance and repairs of the ferry, facilitate the embarkation and disembarkation passengers and vehicles; keep the passengers and vehicles on board in safe and orderly manner. The Deckhand assigned is responsible for: -checking tickets, collecting the ticket stubs from the passengers at the gangway -keeping a clicker count of the number boarded. -guiding the passengers and vehicles into the vessel in an orderly manner. -assisting passengers to locate their seats and store their luggage. -providing a demonstration in the use of lifejackets, location of emergency exits and muster as per the HSC Code 18.5.1. -ensuring that there is no gambling, smoking, noise making and nuisance in the passenger compartments and report to master if there is any misconduct. -fully securing each vehicle and reporting to the duty Master when it is done before the vessel departure. -maintaining the terminal.

Qualification Requirements: Special skills: considerable knowledge of assisting passengers in emergency situations, helping passengers during a period of stress and follow the directions of the certified survival craft/rescue boat crewman in charge of the lifeboat. License: 1.Seafarer Identification Record Book and Endorsement. 2.Certificate of proficiency to operate or navigate type of passenger carrying vessel in accordance with STCW. 3.Support level: the safety training specified in STCW Code section A-V/2, paras. 1 and 3. 4. Valid First Aid/CPR Certification, and/or ability to obtain and maintain 5. ONE year work experience in the proposed position on ships, knowledge, or experience is required. 6. High school diploma or equivalent. 7. Fit for duty All of the above requirements are required for both U.S. and foreign workers
