Job Title: Translator
Job Duties: Translate messages simultaneously or consecutively from English to Chinese or vice versa. Read written materials, such as legal documents, or news reports, and rewrite material from English to Chinese or vice versa. Represent on behalf of clients at government offices or service providers in order to assist them with translation services. Check translations of technical terms and terminology to ensure that they are accurate and remain consistent throughout translation revisions. Compile information on content and context of information to be translated and on intended audience. Proofread, edit, and revise translated materials. Check original texts or confer with authors to ensure that translations retain the content, meaning, and feeling of the original material. Support office administrative matters and routine day to day clerical activities. Assist with office operations by ensuring supplies are stocked, maintained and serviced. Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information.

Qualification Requirements: Bachelors degree required, preferably in language studies, communications, or related disciplines; 2 years relevant experience required; Ability to read, write, and converse in English and Chinese; Prior experience of working with non-English-speaking Chinese clients; Able to thrives in a high-pressure work environment.

Comments: [1] EMPLOYMENT BASIS & DURATION: This job opportunity is for a temporary, full-time position. [2] WORK HOURS: Employees hired under this announcement will work on full time employment thirty-five (35) hours per week. Work hours start from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. [3] THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual fist date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. [4] INBOUND/OUTBOUND TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: The Employer shall pay for all inbound transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract, or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. [5] FIRST WORK WEEK REIMBURSEMENT: Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government. [6] TOOLS, SUPPLIES & EQUIPMENT: Workers will be provided at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Furthermore, workers will be supplied at no charge all safety clothing and equipment. Company will require all workers to wear such clothing and equipment always during work. [7] HOUSING: Employer will assist workers in securing board, lodging or other facilities.
