Job Title: WINCH OPERATOR
Job Duties: Operate compressed air, diesel, electric, gasoline, or steam-driven hoists or winches in order to control movement of cableways, cages, derricks, draglines, loaders, railcars, or skips. Move levers, pedals, and throttles to stop, start, and regulate speeds of hoist or winch drums in response to hand, bell, buzzer, telephone, loud speaker, or whistle signals, or by observing dial indicators or cable marks. Move or reposition hoists, winches, loads, and materials, manually or using equipment and machines such as trucks, cars, and hand trucks. Attach, fasten, and disconnect cables or lines to loads, materials, and equipment. Select loads or materials according to weight and size specifications. Signal and assist other workers loading and unloading materials.

Qualification Requirements: All applying U.S. citizens and CW employees in these occupations generally need 12 months of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers. A recognized apprenticeship program may be associated with these occupations. Experience in the field of maintenance and structural repairs. Certification required in the field of general maintenance. All applying U.S. citizens and CW individuals must obtain a police clearance pre-hire. All applying U.S. citizens and CW individuals must undergo a drug screening test post-hire.

Comments: The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on October 01, 2020 to September 30, 2023. The place of employment will be at Saipan Stevedore Company Inc. building, Lower Base, Commercial Port, Puerto Rico, Saipan, CNMI MP. Applicants will be reasonably expected to reside within the area of the place of employment to perform the services or labor as advertised. In adherence to The Three-Fourths Guarantee under 20CFR 655.423 (f) the employer will offer employment for a total number of work hours to equal at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period of employment specified in the work contract, beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. In adherence to Transportation and Subsistence under 20CFR 655.423 (j)(1) if the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the workers transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the workers the reasonable cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work. Employer will guarantee to provide all tools and equipment needed for the duties assigned. Overtime hours will be applicable at 1.5 x the rate indicated on the JVA.
