| Job Title: | Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician |
| Job Duties: | 1. Install and repair air conditioning, refrigeration and heating equipments such as air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers and water heaters using gauges, adjustable wrench, tester, soldering iron, portable torch, flaring tools, recovery machine and screw drivers. 2. Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers and water heaters. 3. Inspect or troubleshoot equipments to determine if they are properly operating using gauges and testers. 4. Disassemble equipment to inspect for deficiencies and reassemble after repair. 5. Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the refrigerator, air conditioner, or freezer. 6. Test power line supply and control board for leaks. 7. Braze, solder or weld copper pipe/metal parts or components. 8. Repair or replace worn, damaged or defective mechanical parts. 9. Install expansion and control valves, using acetylene torches and wrenches. 10. Install wiring to connect components to an electrical power source. 11. Mount compressor, condenser, and other components in specified locations on frames using hand tools and acetylene welding equipment. 12. Cut, bend thread and connect pipe to functional components and water, power or refrigeration system. 13. Read blueprints to determine location, size, capacity and type of components needed to build refrigeration or air conditioning system. 14. Lay out reference points for installation of structural and functional components, using measuring instruments. 15. Drill holes and install mounting brackets if required. 16. Insulate shells and cabinets of systems. 17. Lift and align air conditioning and refrigeration units into position using carts or hoists. 18. Estimate labor and parts costs. 19. Submit reports to Operation Manager of daily tasks accomplished pending tasks that needs to be accomplished. |
