Job Title: Maintenance Repairer
Job Duties: Performs routine building maintenance tasks, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repair and maintenance. Tasks include plumbing work, painting, flooring repair and upkeep, electrical repairs and heating and air conditioning system maintenance. Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work. Starts machines and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems. Inspects or tests damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advises supervisors of repair needs. Lubricates or applies adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures. Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications. Dismantles machines and removes parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists. Records production, repairs, and machine maintenance information. Reads work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance. Sets up and operates machines, and adjusts controls to regulate operations. Collaborates with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
High School Diploma Required? Yes
Qualification Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required. Related degree from a technical college is a plus. Must have two (2) years work experience in the area of Maintenance Repair or in a similar field. Skilled in the use of hand and power tools. Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts. Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary. Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches. Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices. Experience performing routing maintenance. Strong organizational and follow up skills. Has an eye for detail. Ability to maintain focus while working individually. Must have strong time management skills. Must have a valid CNMI driver’s license.

Comments: The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021. THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker’s transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
