Job Title: | Assistant Manager - Steward |
Job Duties: | Assist and support the Chief Steward to plan and oversee kitchen cleanliness and sanitation activities Schedule and conduct daily kitchen inspections to monitor conformance to health and fire department regulations Arrange and oversee maintenance of all banquet equipment, both stationary and portable Maintain inventory control and order equipment and supplies to support the Catering and Culinary Departments, within budget Assist outlet chefs with setup and teardown Handle administrative tasks and scheduling Conduct training in the correct use, handling and storage of cleaning chemicals Schedule rosters and match manpower to business demands Delegate duties and tasks fairly and equitably between the staff Provide supervision, direction and leadership to Stewards to achieve department goals Coach, motivate, counsel and evaluate staff Assist with staff hiring Conduct daily briefings and disseminate Company information to staff Test and correct any deviations from stewarding procedures swiftly through on the job training Arrange training sessions and refresher courses for staff in coordination with the Department Trainer Promote a work environment where employees feel valued, appreciated, involved, equal and safe Interact with Department and Company Team Members, management, and contractors professionally and positively Encourage good relationships, promote team spirit, and ensure effective two-way and multicultural communications Adhere to the Company policies and procedures and comply with the Code of Conduct Remain well-mannered and well-groomed as per Department and Company standards at all times Follow health and safety standards and strive for constant improvement to avoid health and injury hazards Participate in the Company recycling program and follow a strict discipline to reduce, re-use and recycle wherever possible Perform other related duties as assigned. |

Qualification Requirements: | Must have 2 years stewarding management experience in a 5 star hotel or well-known Property. Must have ServSafe Food Protection Certificate. High School/GED required. Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin to deal with internal staff from Asian and International countries knowledge of Cantonese, Japanese and Korean is an advantage. Ability to operate Microsoft Windows & Office software. Excellent knowledge in Food & Beverage, Health & Safety, Food Safety Standards and Chemical handling regulations. Positive attitude, hardworking, responsible and organized. Excellent leadership, management and supervisory abilities. Able to work on shifts and be flexible regarding work schedules according to business demand and the ability to stand for long periods of time. Self-motivated, well-organized, responsible, friendly and polite with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Team player who responds quickly to demands and thrives in a high-pressure work environment able to multi-task. Employees hired under this announcement will work on full time employment thirty-five (35) hours per week. There are three rotating shifts per day from Monday to Sunday: (A) Day Shift will be from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. (B) Swing Shift will be from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. (C) Night Shift will be from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. |

Comments: | [1] EMPLOYMENT BASIS & DURATION: This job opportunity is for a temporary, full-time position. [2] WORK HOURS: Employees hired under this announcement will work on full time employment thirty-five (35) hours per week. There are three rotating shifts per day from Monday to Sunday: (A) Day Shift will be from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. (B) Swing Shift will be from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. (C) Night Shift will be from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Employee hired under this announcement will be rotated through each of the three shifts. [3] THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual fist date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. [4] INBOUND/OUTBOUND TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: The Employer shall pay for all inbound transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract, or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. [5] FIRST WORK WEEK REIMBURSEMENT: Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). [6] TOOLS, SUPPLIES & EQUIPMENT: Workers will be provided at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Furthermore, workers will be supplied at no charge all safety clothing and equipment. Company will require all workers to wear such clothing and equipment always during work. [7] HOUSING: The employer will provide optional housing at $25.00 per week, during the employment. [8] EMPLOYEE MEAL: The employees will be provided one (1) duty meal per day at no expense for the duration of the employment.
