| Job Title: | Insurance Underwriter |
| Job Duties: | Review insurance applications for property, casualty, worker's compensation, auto, accident and marine for commercial and personal lines to determine and evaluate the degree of risk involved and determine acceptance of applications. Conduct risk inspections, risk analysis and make recommendations to reduce or control risk involved. Ascertain whether insurance applications are in compliance with and are within the insurance treaty agreements of the company with its reinsurers. Acquire reinsurance support and/or facultative placements for risk exceeding the company retention limit. Determine premiums, prepare quotes and issue insurance policies, and as such, it is required to be knowledgeable on the use of computer and various computer software such as MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro and Peachtree Accounting System. Assist customers on their insurance needs and other related duties as an insurance underwriter. |
