Job Title: Reservations Agent
Job Duties: Confer with customers to determine their service requirements and travel preferences. Determine whether space is available on travel dates requested by customers, assigning requested spaces when available. Assemble and issue required documentation, such as tickets, travel insurance policies, or itineraries. Maintain computerized inventories of available passenger space and provide information on space reserved or available. Inform clients of essential travel information, such as travel times, transportation connections, or medical and visa requirements. Answer inquiries regarding information, such as schedules, accommodations, procedures, or policies. Plan routes, itineraries, and accommodation details, and compute fares and fees, using schedules, rate books, and computers. Make and confirm reservations for transportation and accommodations, using telephones, faxes, mail, and computers. Prepare customer invoices and accept payment. Open or close information facilities. Provide customers with travel suggestions and information sources, such as guides, directories, brochures, or maps. Contact customers or travel agents to advise them of travel conveyance changes or to confirm reservations. Promote particular destinations, tour packages, and other travel services.
High School Diploma Required? Yes
Qualification Requirements: High school diploma or GED. Twelve (12) months experience as a Reservations Agent. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies,procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Actively looking for ways to help people. Talking to others to convey information effectively. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Persuading others to change their minds or behavior. Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Managing one's own time and the time of others. Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Comments: The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021 THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
