| Job Duties: | Handles lines to motor vessel to wharves, tie up vessel to another vessel, or rig towing lines. Stands steering watches or lookout watches while underway. Loads or unloads material from barges, scows, and dredges. Pants lifeboats, decks and superstructure of vessel, using brush. Examines cables that holds vessels in tow and tightens cables to ensure vessel is snug. May tour decks during watch to caution passengers engaged in unsafe practices, and ensures departure of passengers at end of voyage. |

| Qualification Requirements: | 1 year of experience in same field. Need strong technical skills and an aptitude for practical work. Able to effectively operate winches, capstans and other deck equipment, as well as perform physical tasks such as lowering lifeboats during emergencies. Must have normal color vision to easily recognize color coded signals. Perform basic repairs, such as replacing worn cables. Teamwork and good communication skills. |
