Job Duties: Check products for quality and identify damaged or expired goods. Set oven temperatures and place items into hot ovens for baking. Combine measured ingredients in bowls of mixing, blending, or cooking machinery. Place dough in pans, molds, or on sheets and bake in production ovens or on grills. Set time and speed controls for mixing machines, blending machines, or steam kettles so that ingredients will be mixed or cooked according to instructions. Measure or weigh flour or other ingredients to prepare batters, doughs, fillings, or icings, using scales or graduated containers.See more occupations related to this task. Observe color of products being baked and adjust oven temperatures, humidity, or conveyor speeds accordingly. Check the quality of raw materials to ensure that standards and specifications are met. Check equipment to ensure that it meets health and safety regulations and perform maintenance or cleaning, as necessary. Adapt the quantity of ingredients to match the amount of items to be baked. Apply glazes, icings, or other toppings to baked goods, using spatulas or brushes. Decorate baked goods, such as cakes or pastries. Roll, knead, cut, or shape dough to form sweet rolls, pie crusts, tarts, cookies, or other products. Direct or coordinate bakery deliveries. Order or receive supplies or equipment. Prepare or maintain inventory or production records. Operate slicing or wrapping machines. Develop new recipes for baked goods. Check products for quality and identify damaged or expired goods
High School Diploma Required? Yes
Qualification Requirements: Must have at least 12-months experienced as bakers or similar occupations. Must have at least 6-months of training for the same filed of occupation. Must be detail-oriented to keep products from burning. Ability to read and follow recipes in English language. Basic Math skills to precisely mix recipes, weigh, measure, and convert ingredients using metric conversion or adjust mixes accordingly. Ability to follow strict health and safety standards. Ability to lift and carry heavy bags of flour and other ingredients, which may weigh up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand on their feet for extended periods while they prepare the dough, monitor baking, or packaged goods. Maintain good personal hygiene. Must be able to obtain Food Handler's certification from CNMI Department of Public Health. Must be able to work on flexible hours including holidays, weekends, and morning/evening shifts. Extensive knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control & costs to effectively maximize the manufacture and distribution of goods.

Comments: Herman's Modern Bakery Inc (HMBI) will conduct recruitment by posting the job opportunity online at CNMI Dept of Labor’s job listing, and where work will be performed (i.e. HMBI-Bulletin Board @ Snackbar area). HMBI will attract applicants at job fairs conducted during the recruitment period, if any, by CNMI Dept of Labor, and any other organizations in the CNMI and by spreading the word by contacting via email or US mail former US workers who separated from the company within the last 270 calendar days and who qualifies for the position, and by contacting trade schools in the CNMI.
