Job Title: | Tour Guide and Coordinator |
Job Duties: | Plan, organize, and conduct sightseeing tours and optional activities for individuals or groups. Plan tour itineraries, applying knowledge of travel routes and destination sites. Resolve any problems with itineraries, service, or accommodations. Sell travel packages. Arrange for tour or expedition details such as accommodations, transportation, equipment, and the availability of medical personnel. Lead individuals or groups to tour site locations and describe points of interest. Verify amounts and quality of equipment prior to expeditions or tours. Attend to special needs of tour participants. Give advice on sightseeing and shopping. Administer first aid to injured group participants. Greet and register visitors, and issue any required identification badges or safety devices. Guide and assist customers in airline check-in and transfer buildings at the airport. Distribute brochures, show audiovisual presentations, and explain establishment processes and operations at tour sites. Research various topics, including site history, environmental conditions, and clients' skills and abilities to plan appropriate expeditions, instruction, and commentary. If necessary, drive motor vehicles to transport visitors to establishments and tour site locations. Collect fees and tickets from customers on site. Assemble and check the required supplies and equipment prior to departure. Provide for physical safety of visitors, performing such activities as providing first aid or directing emergency evacuations. Train other guides and volunteers. Perform clerical duties, such as filing, typing, operating switchboards, or routing mail and messages. Solicit tour patronage and sell souvenirs. Accommodate tourists and vendors in Japanese. Do other related duties. Sites that Tour Guides guide to: Banzai Cliff, Last Japanese Command Post, Old Banadero Airport, Grotto, Bird Island, Kalabera Cave, Mermaid Cave, Old Karabera Shrine, Suicide Cliff, Lagua Cave, Lagua Beach, Wing Beach, Pau Pau Beach, Matansha, Hell Hill, Paradise Hill, Tanapag Beach, Tanapag Park, Donni Cave, Old Japanese Maine Airforce Base, Saipan International Airport, Sugar Dock, Old Japanese Cemetery, Mount Carmel Cathedral, Saipan Shrine, CNMI Museum, Old Japanese Jail, Kristo Rai Church, Fishing Base, American Memorial Park, Micro Beach, Old Izumi Shrine, Old Man By the Sea, Tank Beach, Santa Lourdes Shrine, Laulau Beach, Mount Tapochau, Old As Lito Airport. Any area and/or district of the island's villages including but not limited to Marpi, San Roque, Tanapag, Talofofo, Koblerville, San Antonio, Chalan Kanoa, Gualo Rai, Donni and Naftan. Any historical sites, including any new sites discovered in the future. Any hotel used by customers. Any other location as required by customers, that are accessible and safe to visit, and wouldn't violate any law. |

Qualification Requirements: | Minimum 2 years of job experience as a tour guide in Saipan. Must be knowledgeable in tourist and historic sites of Saipan. Basic knowledge of administrative skills and tour agency operations. Must be able to speak, and preferably read and write Japanese language, enough to guide Japanese tourist customers on sightseeing, since Japan dominates the nationality of company’s customers. |

Fringe Benefits: | Compensations: Workers’ Compensation provided. Tour Guide Certification Training to be paid by Employer. Three-Fourths Guarantee: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. Transportation and Subsistence Provided: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker’s transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. |
