Job Title: Food Preparation & Serving Workers
Job Duties: PREPARE DAILY FOOD ITEMS, AND COOK SIMPLE FOODS AND BEVERAGES, SUCH AS SANDWICHES, SALADS, SOUPS, PIZZA, OR COFFEE, USING PROPER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND SANITARY MEASURES. CLEAN AND ORGANIZE EATING, SERVICE, AND KITCHEN AREAS. MONITOR AND ORDER SUPPLIES OR FOOD ITEMS AND RESTOCK AS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN INVENTORY. SERVE CUSTOMERS IN EATING PLACES THAT SPECIALIZE IN FAST SERVICE AND INEXPENSIVE CARRY-OUT FOOD. COLLECT AND RETURN DIRTY DISHES TO THE KITCHEN FOR WASHING. WASH DISHES, GLASSWARE, AND SILVERWARE AFTER MEALS. NOTIFY KITCHEN PERSONNEL OF SHORTAGES OR SPECIAL ORDERS. RELAY FOOD ORDERS TO COOKS. PREPARE AND SERVE COLD DRINKS, OR FROZEN MILK DRINKS OR DESSERTS, USING DRINK-DISPENSING, MILKSHAKE, OR FROZEN CUSTARD MACHINES. SELECT FOOD ITEMS FROM SERVING OR STORAGE AREAS AND PLACE THEM IN DISHES, ON SERVING TRAYS, OR IN TAKE-OUT BAGS. COOK OR REHEAT FOOD ITEMS SUCH AS FRENCH FRIES. DISTRIBUTE FOOD TO CUSTOMERS PACK FOOD, DISHES, UTENSILS, TABLECLOTHS, AND ACCESSORIES FOR TRANSPORTATION FROM CATERING OR FOOD PREPARATION ESTABLISHMENTS TO LOCATIONS DESIGNATED BY CUSTOMERS. ARRANGE TABLES AND DECORATIONS ACCORDING TO INSTRUCTIONS. SERVE FOOD AND BEVERAGES TO GUESTS AT BANQUETS OR OTHER SOCIAL FUNCTIONS. PROVIDE CATERERS WITH ASSISTANCE IN FOOD PREPARATION OR SERVICE. PLAN, PREPARE, AND DELIVER MEALS TO INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS.

Qualification Requirements: MUST HAVE A MINIMUM of 6-months TRAINING IN FOOD HANDLING SAFETY & CUSTOMER SERVICE. MINIMUM OF 12-MONTHS EXPERIENCE IN FOODSERVICE & PREPARATION OR SIMILAR OCCUPATION. JOB KNOWLEDGE OF SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT, AND/OR SERVICES ORDERING AND INVENTORY CONTROL. ABILITY TO FOLLOW ROUTINE VERBAL AND WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS. ABILITY TO READ AND WRITE. ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND FOLLOW SAFETY PROCEDURES. ABILITY TO SAFELY USE CLEANING EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES. ABILITY TO LIFT AND MANIPULATE HEAVY OBJECTS UP TO 25 LBS. KNOWLEDGE OF FOOD SERVICE LINES SET-UP AND TEMPERATURE REQUIREMENTS. SKILL IN COOKING AND PREPARING A VARIETY OF FOODS. KNOWLEDGE OF FOOD PREPARATION AND PRESENTATION METHODS, TECHNIQUES, AND QUALITY STANDARDS MUST OBTAIN FOOD HANDLER'S CERTIFICATION FROM THE CNMI DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON A FLEXIBLE HOURS INCLUDING HOLIDAYS, WEEKENDS, AND EVENING SHIFTS

Comments: Herman's Modern Bakery Inc (HMBI) will conduct recruitment by posting the job opportunity online at CNMI Dept of Labor’s job listing, and where work will be performed (i.e. HMBI-Bulletin Board @ Snackbar area). HMBI will attract applicants at job fairs conducted during the recruitment period, if any, by CNMI Dept of Labor, and any other organizations in the CNMI and by spreading the word by contacting via email or US mail former US workers who separated from the company within the last 270 calendar days and who qualifies for the position, and by contacting trade schools in the CNMI.
