Job Duties: | Provide scientific or technical guidance, support, coordination, or oversight to environmental programs, industry, or the public. Review and implement environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations that meet all appropriate requirements. Collect, synthesize, analyze, manage, and report environmental data, such as soil or water samples. Communicate scientific or technical information to the public, organizations, or internal audiences through oral briefings, written documents, workshops, conferences, or training sessions. Provide advice on proper standards and regulations or the development of policies, strategies, or codes of practice for environmental management. Prepare charts or graphs from data samples, providing summary information on the environmental relevance of the data. Design or direct studies to obtain technical environmental information about planned projects. Review environmental permits, licenses, or related materials. Analyze laboratory findings to check the accuracy of the results. Operate, calibrate, or maintain analytical equipment. Establish or monitor quality assurance programs or activities to ensure the accuracy of laboratory results. Analyze samples of biological material for chemical content or reaction. Maintains drinking water test laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality standards; developing operations, quality, and troubleshooting procedures; ensuring staff compliance; certifying instrument performance; arranging equipment replacement, service, and repair. Maintains water testing laboratory information system by identifying information needs and problems; recommending improvements; establishing priorities; testing; writing user manuals; training employees; maintaining security and confidentiality. |

Qualification Requirements: | Bachelor's degree in Biology or Chemistry. min. of 5 yrs. experience as Environmental profession and water testing laboratory. Must have knowledge of Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) requirements and regulations Must know how to operate analytical instruments, such as spectrophotometers, chlorimeters, flame photometers, or computer-controlled analyzers. Must have valid CNMI drivers license. |
