Job Title: Truck Driver
Job Duties: Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods. Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure. Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles. Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required. Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products, or other materials. Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy. Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes, Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes in compliance with state regulations. Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines or manipulating fifth wheel locks. Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.

Qualification Requirements: 12 months work experience operating trucks or vans with capacity of at least 10,001 pounds gross vehicle weight (GVW) or 10 to 16 wheeled vehicles. Controlling operations of equipment or systems. Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Talking to other to convey information effectively. Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. Must obtain a CNMI Driver's License. A high school graduate or GED with some vocational training. Must be able to work on weekends and holidays on short notice.

Comments: The place of employment will be at Kannat Tabla, Saipan. Applicants will be reasonably expected to reside within the area of the place of employment to perform the services or labor as advertised. Overtime hours will be applicable at 1.5 x the rate indicated on the JVA The employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck as required by law, as well as other deductions for selected employee benefits, including health, vision, dental, life insurance and 401 (K) subject to each company’s conditions. The employer guarantees under paragraph (f)(1) to offer each employee employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period of employment specified in the work contract, beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the employee at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. If a worker voluntarily abandons employment or is terminated for cause, the employer is not required to guarantee three-fourths of the work contract, as provided under Subsection 655.423(f). The employer will provide transportation and subsistence to the employee while traveling from the employee’s origin to the place of employment as well as the return transportation and subsistence at the conclusion of the job opportunity, as required by 20 CFR 655.423(j)(1). Daily transportation to and from the place(s) of employment will be provided by the employer if applicable. The employer will provide without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the duties assigned, in accordance with 20 CFR 655.423(k) Board, lodging, or other facilities the employer will offer to works or tends to assist workers in securing if applicable On the job training will be provided to the worker if applicable.
