Job Title: Food Service Worker
Job Duties: Pack food, dishes, utensils, and accessories for transportation from catering or food preparation establishments to locations designated by customers. Arrange tables and decorations according to instructions. Prepare requested food items, and cook simple foods and beverages, such as sandwiches, salads, soups, pizza, or coffee, using proper safety precautions and sanitary measures. Serve food and beverages to guests at banquets or other social functions. Provide caterers with assistance in food preparation or service. Prepare, plan and deliver meals to individuals or customers. Clean and organize eating, service, and kitchen areas. Monitor and orders supplies or food items and restock as necessary to maintain inventory. Serve customers in eating places that specialize in fast service and inexpensive carry-out food. Collect and return dirty dishes to the kitchen for washing. Wash dishes, glassware, and silverware after meals. Notify kitchen personnel of shortage or special orders. Prepare and serve cold drinks using drinking-dispensing machine.
High School Diploma Required? Yes
Qualification Requirements: Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control. Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions. Ability to read and write in English language. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures. Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies. Ability to lead or train staff. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects up to 25 pounds. Knowledge of food service lines set-up and temperature requirements. Skill in cooking and prparing variety of foods. Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards. Must obtain tuberculosis clearance certificate. Must obtain Food Handler's Certificate from the CNMI Department of Public Health. Must be able to work on flexible hours including holidays, weekends, and evening shifts. Must have 3 months work experience as food server. Six (6) months training in food services, food preparation, and in health and sanitary standards.

All safety clothing and equipment, if required, will also be provided by the employer at no charge to the employee.

Comments: EMPLOYMENT BASIS & DURATION: This job opportunity is for a temporary, full-time position beginning October 1, 2019 and ending September 30, 2020. WORK HOURS: Employees hired under this announcement will work on full time employment of at least thirty-five (35) hours per week. THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE. Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual fist date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. INBOUND/OUTBOUND TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE. The employer shall pay for all inbound transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract, or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. PROVISION OF TOOLS, SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT. Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job duties. RECRUITMENT INFORMATION.
