Job Title: Specialty Technical Coordinator
Job Duties: Job Summary: The Specialty Technical Coordinator is responsible for providing technical support to the IT&E Enterprise Business Group, particularly in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication systems and equipment, including, but not limited to, High Speed Internet Services, VLAN/MPLS Services, DSL, TDM or IP Based Telephony systems, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Linux, Windows servers, Data and Voice communication lines, operating systems and other types of software. Duties and Responsibilities: The Employee will: 1. Know and uphold the established IT&E Mission, policies and procedures, relevant provisions of the union agreement, IT&E and Department objectives, quality assurance and safety programs and standards. 2. Respond to daily trouble tickets; restore High Speed Internet Services, VLAN/MPLS Services, DSL, TDM or IP based telephony systems, fax, and other telecommunication services; install customer premise wiring, if required. 3. Survey customer site and plan for installation and station equipment programming to meet customer requirements. 4. Install, operate, maintain, repair and configure communications equipment used for High speed Internet Services, VLAN/MPLS services, DSL, TDM or IP based telephony systems, fax, and other telecommunications services. Includes assisting in performing station and trunk programming. 5. Respond to emergency situations affecting services; be on call during after-office hours and weekends, and be available for premise visits within 30 minutes of being notified of a problem. 6. Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes. 7. Maintain network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance turning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor. 8. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on telecommunications systems. 9. Prepare and maintain technical records, for data and telephony systems, including programming data, trunk and stations class of service data, and equipment hardware history for each customer accounts. 10. Provide weekly reports on the activities of the client to upper management and attend any necessary company meetings with client or IT&E upper management. 11. Perform other related duties or tasks as assigned or required.

Qualification Requirements: Minimum Qualification Requirements: Education: AA degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience. Work Experience: four or more years of progressively responsible experience in telephony and data communication networks in LAN and WAN, operating systems, network and systems security.
