Job Duties: Prepare, season & cook dishes such as soup, meats, vegetables or desserts in restaurant. May order supplies, keep records & accounts, price items on menu or plan menu. Inspect & clean food preparation areas, such as equipment & work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe & sanitary food handling practice. Make sure that all important knives are sharp & clean & that all equipment is in working order. Ensure freshness of food & ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old & new items & rotating stocks. Ensure food is stored & cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broiler, grills & roasters. Season & cook food according to recipes or personal judgement & experience. Turn or stir food to ensure even cooking.
High School Diploma Required? Undetermined
Qualification Requirements: Six months or more work related experience. With valid Food Handler Certificate & Police Clearance With own means of transporation Can work in flexible hours including holidays, weekends & night time shifts. Skilled in preparing Japanese cuisine, including but not limited to sushi, sashimi & tempura. Skilled with cutting & preparation techniques for each type of fish used in sushi rolls as well as how to prepare sushi rice , sauces & seasoned ingredients.
