Job Duties: 1. Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.2.Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions. 3. Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons to transport materials to and from specified destination. 4. Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.5. Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.6. Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition. 7. Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel. 8. Perform emergency repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, or spark plugs. 9. Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles using telephones or mobile two-way radios. 10. Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions. 11. Load and unload cargo or merchandise. 12. Communicate with customers to determine pick-up and delivery needs. 13. Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded. 14. Wrap and secure goods using pads, packing paper, containers or straps.

Qualification Requirements: 1.Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. 2. Must possess or be capable of obtaining a valid CNMI driver’s license. 3. Must possess or be capable of obtaining a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate, in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (49 CFR 391.41 through 391.49) 4.Must possess a clean driving record. 5. Must have at least 1 year experience with commercial truck at least 20 ft. in length. 6. Must be proficient in operating a forklift and flatbed trucks. 7. Must be physically fit and be able to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects at least 90 lbs. in weight

Comments: The job position is a temporary, full–time position with three (3) years duration. Work hours will be from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays of every week but may vary depending on the work assignments given by the immediate supervisors or managers. The place of employment will be at Ground Floor, Transamerica Building, Middle Road, Chalan Laulau, Saipan island. Applicants will be expected to live within reasonable proximity to the place of employment to perform the work as required by this vacancy announcement. The selected applicant will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. If the hired applicant completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the hired applicant's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the hired applicant is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the hired applicant originally departed to work, except where the hired applicant will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a hired applicant's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Worker will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). Daily transportation from the residence of workers to the worksite is not provided. Overtime work and pay is available, and overtime hours are paid at a rate of 1.5 times that of the offered hourly rate in this vacancy announcement. Overtime hours shall begin to accrue after the 40 hour of work within a calendar week beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday. On-the-job training is not provided. The hired applicant will be provided, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Board, lodging or other facilities are not provided as part of compensation for this vacancy announcement.
