Job Title: AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIANS AND MECHANICS
Job Duties: • TEST DRIVE VEHICLES AND TEST COMPONENTS AND SYSTEMS, USING EQUIPMENT SUCH AS INFRARED ENGINE ANALYZERS, COMPRESSION GAUGE, AND COMPUTERIZED DIAGNOSIS DEVICES. • TEST AND ADJUST REPAIRED SYSTEMS TO MEET MANUFACTURERS’ PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS. • REPAIR, RELINE, REPLACE, AND ADJUST BRAKES.• REVIEW WORK ORDERS AND DISCUSS WORK WITH SUPERVISORS. • CONFER WITH CUSTOMERS TO OBTAIN DESCRIPTIONS OF VEHICLE PROBLEMS AND TO DISCUSS WORK TO BE PERFORMED AND FUTURE REPAIR REQUIREMENTS. • EXAMINE VEHICLES TO DETERMINE EXTENT OF DAMAGE OR LINKAGES.• PERFORM ROUTINE AND SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE SERVICES, SUCH AS OIL CHANGES, LUBRICATION, AND TUNE-UPS. • PLAN WORK PROCEDURES, USING CHARTS, TECHNICAL MANUALS, AND EXPERIENCE. • FOLLOW CHECKLISTS TO ENSURE ALL IMPORTANT PARTS ARE EXAMINED, INCLUDING BELTS, HOSES, STEERING SYSTEMS, SPARK PLUGS, BRAKE AND FUEL SYSTEMS, WHEEL BEARINGS AND OTHER POTENTIALLY TROUBLESOME AREAS.• MAINTAIN CLEANLINESS OF WORK AREA, REPAIR RADIATOR LEAKS.• REPAIR AND SERVICE AIR CONDITIONING, HEATING, ENGINE COOLING, AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. DISASSEMBLE UNITS AND INSPECT PARTS FOR WEAR, USING MICROMETERS, CALIPERS AND GAUGES. • OVERHAUL OR REPLACE CARBURETORS, BLOWERS, GENERATORS, DISTRIBUTORS, STARTERS, AND PUMPS.• REPAIR OR REPLACE PARTS SUCH AS PISTONS, RODS, GEARS, VALVES, AND BEARINGS.• REWIRE IGNITION SYSTEMS, LIGHTS AND INSTRUMENT PANELS. • REPAIR MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.• REPAIR OR REPLACE SHOCK ABSORBER, REPLACE AND ADJUST HEADLIGHTS. INSTALL AND REPAIR ACCESSORIES, SUCH AS RADIOS, HEATERS, MIRRORS, AND WINDSHIELDS WIPERS.• REBUILD PARTS, SUCH AS CRANKSHAFTS AND CYLINDER BLOCKS.

Qualification Requirements: WITH 12 MONTHS WORK EXPERIENCE. • CUSTOMER-SERVICE SKILLS, SERVICE TECHNICIANS MUST DISCUSS AUTOMOTIVE PROBLEMS, ALONG WITH OPTIONS TO FIX THEM, WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS, BECAUSE WORKERS MAY DEPEND ON REPEAT CLIENTS FOR BUSINESS; THEY MUST BE COURTEOUS, GOOD LISTENERS AND READY TO ANSWER CUSTOMERS’S QUESTIONS. • DETAIL ORIENTED, MECHANICAL AND ELECTRONIC MALFUNCTIONS ARE OFTEN DUE TO MISALIGNMENT OR OTHER EASY-TO-MISS CAUSES, SERVICE MECHANICS MUST, THEREFORE, ACCOUNT FOR SUCH DETAILS WHEN INSPECTING OR REPAIRING ENGINES AND COMPONENTS.• DEXTERITY, MANY TASKS THAT SERVICE TECHNICIANS DO, SUCH AS DISASSEMBLING ENGINE PARTS, CONNECTING OR ATTACHING COMPONENTS, AND USING HAND TOOLS, REQUIRE A STEADY HAND AND GOOD HAND-EYE COORDINATION. • MECHANICAL SKILLS, SERVICE TECHNICIANS MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH ENGINE COMPONENTS AND SYSTEMS AND KNOW HOW THEY INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER. THEY OFTEN MUST TAKE APART MAJOR PARTS FOR REPAIRS AND BE ABLE TO PUT THEM BACK TOGETHER PROPERLY. • TROUBLESHOOTING SKILLS, SERVICE TECHNICIANS MUST BE ABLE TO USE DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT ON ENGINE SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS IN ORDER TO IDENTIFY AND FIX PROBLEMS IN INCREASINGLY COMPLICATED MECHANICAL AND ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS. THEY MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEMS AND THE APPROPRIATE TOOLS NEEDED TO FIX AND MAINTAIN THEM. • EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE – PERFORMING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON EQUIPMENT AND DETERMINING WHEN AND WHAT KIND OF MAINTENANCE IS NEEDED. CRITICAL THINKING – USING LOGIC AND REASONING TO IDENTIFY THE STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES OF ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS, CONCLUSIONS OR APPROACHES TO PROBLEMS.

Comments: (1) EMPLOYMENT BASIS & DURATION This job opportunity is for a temporary, full-time position, commencing on October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020 (2) WORK HOURS Employees hired under this announcement will work on full time employment at least thirty five (35) hours per week. (3)THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. (4) INBOUND/OUTBOUND TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE The Employer shall pay for all inbound transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract, or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. (5) PROVISION OF TOOLS, SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
