| Job Duties: | Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product and to customer drawings, specifications or other forms of instruction, working at customer’s site or company site. Utilizes proficiency in Shielded Metal Arc (SMA), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) and flux core welding to codes API 650 (Welded Tanks for Oil Storage), ASME B31.3 (American Society of Mechanical Engineers Piping Process) and ASME B31.4 (American Society of Mechanical Engineers Pipeline Transportation for Hydro Carbons). Performs assigned welding techniques, interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology, wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum and exotic materials. Applies working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameter (amps, volts, etc.), conventional and precision measuring instruments, process inspection, certification and documentation. Performs welding equipment maintenance and finishes grinding applications using manual and power tools. Exercises & uses safety habits, equipment and materials. Special wage rate: Work to be performed on DPRI-funded projects will be paid no less than $18.49 per hour / $27.74 overtime rate, but may be paid more where special Davis-Bacon Act rates apply. |
