Job Title: General Manager
Job Duties: Plan, direct, coordinate, oversee & manage activities directly related to daily operations of the company. Formulate policies, review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement, and to determine areas needing cost deduction and program improvement. Direct and coordinate activities of company’s departments concerned with the services and sales of the company’s businesses, including administrative activities. Monitor suppliers to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed goods or services within budgetary limits. Prepare staff work schedules and assign specific duties, determine staffing requirements, interview, hire and train new employees or oversee those personnel processes. Direct or coordinate financial or budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, or increase efficiency. Establish or implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, or procedures in conjunction with board members, organization officials, or staff members. Perform personnel functions such as selection, training, or evaluation. Plan or direct activities such as sales promotions that require coordination with other department managers. Set prices or credit terms for goods or services based on forecasts of customer demand. Manage the movement of goods into and out of production facilities to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, or sustainability of operations. Perform sales floor work, such as greeting or assisting customers, stocking shelves, or taking inventory. Develop or implement product-marketing strategies, including advertising campaigns or sales promotions. Recommend locations for new facilities or oversee the remodeling or renovating of current facilities. Implement or oversee environmental management or sustainability programs addressing issues such as recycling, conservation, or waste management. Direct non-merchandising departments of businesses, such as advertising or purchasing. Accommodate company’s customers from Japan and vendors in Japan. Do other related duties.

Qualification Requirements: Minimum 2 years of job experience as a general manager of a diving shop in Saipan. General knowledge of scuba diving and boat charter operations required. Must be able to speak, read and write Japanese language, to accommodate Japanese tourists that dominates the nationality of the company’s customers, and communicate with Japanese vendors.

Fringe Benefits: Compensations: Workers’ Compensation provided. Housing allowance of $1,000 per month provided. Transportation and Subsistence Provided: If the worker is hired from off-island, and completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker’s transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
