| Job Duties: | 1. The air conditioning technicians install, inspect, maintain, and repair the air conditioner. 2. They ventilate equipment and controls making sure they operate efficiently and continuously. 3. They perform regular maintenance work on cooling units. 4. They diagnose electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions. 5. They install, replace, or repair equipment that has been damaged. 6. They make the adjustment and do calibrations of thermostatic controls. 7. They install new air-conditioning systems and equipment. 8. They inspect and maintain refrigerators and ice machines, and chilled water supply systems. 9. They clean blowers and coils, check tensions of belts and motors. 10. They make plans and designs of new air-conditioning systems including their installation and maintenance. |

| Qualification Requirements: | With a minimum of 12 months of work related experience. In this position, the airconditioning technician should be able to work in places where they are exposed to dust, fumes, noise, toxic materials and high voltage equipment. They may also have to work in adverse weather and maybe requires to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, kneel and stand for long stretches of lime. The airconditioning technician must at least have a high school diploma. They should know the principles of air-conditioning unit repair and maintenance, including controls, safety practices, and procedures and tools used. They should be able to read and interpret building regulations and codes implement by city, state and federal government agencies pertaining to installing air-conditioning units. |
