Job Title: Maintenance Worker
Job Duties: Maintain and do minor repairs on a commercial building and on grounds of private residential property including air conditioning service, auto repair and furniture construction. Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices. Cut and trim grass using equipment and hand tools. Rake leaves, trim hedges and trees. Clean grounds and remove litter. Plant grass, flowers, trees or shrubs using gardening tools. Water lawn and shrubs. Repair fences, gates, walls and walks using carpentry and masonry tools. Paint fences, interiors and outbuildings. Clean out drainage, ditches and culverts using shovel and rake. Make minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, using hand tools and power tools. May perform related duties as required or assigned.

Qualification Requirements: High school graduate. A minimum of two years of work-related experience, knowledge or skill required. Must have strong skills and knowledgeable in household and building maintenance procedures, woodworking, air conditioning maintenance, electrical, and automotive; the operation of hand tools and power mower, trimmer, leaf blower, router and other equipment, and proper safety procedures. Must be responsible and selfmotivated. Must be hard-working, and able to follow directions well. Must be honest, dependable and trustworthy. Should be available and acceptable for a live-in situation. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Comments: This job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position. There are 3 job openings the employer intends to fill. The employee will work from Monday to Friday. 40 hour per week, 8 hours per day. The place of employment will be at Mt. Tapochau, Saipan. Applicants will be reasonably expected to reside in Saipan to perform the services or labor as advertised. Overtime hours will be applicable at 1.5 x the rate indicated on the JVA. The employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck as required by law. The employer guarantees under paragraph (f)(1) to offer each employee employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period of employment specified in the work contract, beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the employee at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. If a worker voluntarily abandons employment or is terminated for cause, the employer is not required to guarantee three-fourths of the work contract, as provided under Subsection 655.423(f). The employer will provide transportation and subsistence to the employee while traveling from the employee’s origin to the place of employment as well as the return transportation and subsistence at the conclusion of the job opportunity, as required by 20 CFR 655.423(j)(1). The employer will provide without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the duties assigned, in accordance with 20 CFR 655.423(k).
