Job Title: MUSICIANS, INSTRUMENTAL
Job Duties: Play one or more musical instruments or sing. May perform on stage, for on-air broadcasting, or for sound or video recording. Sing songs on stage, radio, television, or motion pictures. Memorize musical selections and routines, or sing following printed text, musical notation, or customer instructions. Sing as a soloist or as a member of a vocal group. Perform before live audiences, or in television, radio, or movie productions. Interpret or modify music, applying knowledge of harmony, melody, rhythm, and voice production to individualize presentations and maintain audience interest. Practice singing exercises and study with vocal coaches to develop voice and skills and to rehearse for upcoming roles. Sing acappella or with musical accompaniment. Observe choral leaders or prompters for cues or directions in vocal presentation. Make or participate in recordings. Seek out and learn new music suitable for live performance or recording. Compose songs or create vocal arrangements. Collaborate with a manager or agent who handles administrative details, finds work, and negotiates contracts. Learn acting, dancing, and other skills required for dramatic singing roles. Research particular roles to find out more about a character, or the time and place in which a piece is set. Practice musical instrument performances, individually or in rehearsal with other musicians, to master individual pieces of music or to maintain and improve skills. Perform before live audiences in concerts, recitals, educational presentations, and other social gatherings. Specialize in playing a specific family of instruments or a particular type of music. Play musical instruments as soloists, or as members or guest artists of musical groups such as orchestras, ensembles, or bands. Sight-read musical parts during rehearsals. Play from memory or by following scores. Listen to recordings to master pieces or to maintain and improve skills. Provide the musical background for live shows, such as ballets, operas, musical theatre, and cabarets. Make or participate in recordings in music studios. Comments: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE JOB POSITION: PERIOD OF INTENDED EMPLOYMENT: The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020 WORK HOURS: MONDAY through SUNDAY; START TIME: 4:00PM; 35 HOURS/WEEK; 2 FULL DAY OFF/WEEK THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE:If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
