Job Duties: | Job Summary: The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for overseeing and managing the Oracle systems and implementation, maintenance and support of the company’s application databases; perform software application programming across multiple technologies to construct software applications that perform according to business requirements and priorities; write and compile complex, multi-layer SQL statements over an Oracle database, to update production data and create reports; primarily in charge of monitoring and maintaining systems with Oracle Database as the backend; training others in using Oracle; facilitates the creation and monitoring of various internal corporate databases running in SQL Server and MySQL used by the different systems in the company. Strategize, collaborate, and participate in various monitoring, performance, and analysis tasks with the goal of performance optimizations; and review SQL queries written by software developers for performance enhancement. The Senior Database Administrator will supervise one subordinate Database Administrator. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Employee will: 1. Know and uphold the established IT&E Mission, policies and procedures, IT&E and Department objectives, quality assurance and safety programs and standards. 2. Oversee data analysis and database management for Oracle systems including applications upgrades 3. Lead in the implementation of enhancements of existing databases and/or creation of new databases in order to provide an optimum design that satisfies the company requirements. 4. Develop database structure, implement applications, enhance system and ensure security. 5. Perform a variety of database development and administration functions (including database stored procedures, user defined tables, views, triggers, and SQL scripts) 6. Design scripts and develop tools to automate periodic task and improve monitoring of system. 7. Author database documentation and guidelines to help support system operations. 8. Provide after hour maintenance, coordinate with consultants and manage vendors for patches and upgrades. 9. Create and maintain data dictionaries, physical databases and logical database models. 10. Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. 11. Estimate software development timelines and be accountable to the timelines by actively managing risks and changing requirements. 12. Partner with business analysts and application super users to successfully complete projects. 13. Supervise and provide technical support and mentoring to less senior developers in order to foster professional development. 14. Work with end users to develop best practice business processes. |

Qualification Requirements: | Minimum Qualification Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related field. Work Experience: Five years of experience performing Oracle Database administration. Extensive working knowledge of Windows/Linux Oracle jobs, along with automation. Strong working knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, applications development for IOS or Android, and report generation and automation. |
