Job Title: Assistant Manager - Cleaning
Job Duties: • Ensure all departmental activities are carried out efficiently and effectively, a high standard of service is always maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures. • Effective and efficient management of the department logistical operations to ensure high standard of uniform presentation is maintained without any disruption to the business. • Ensure all uniformed staff to be provided with clean and fresh uniforms as required. • Liaising closely with Purchasing/Finance and vendors for accurate invoicing of all items and cross charge to respective departments as necessary. • Closely monitor the uniforms and shoes inventories to ensure all employees are given appropriate type and sizes. • Ensure all linens, uniforms and guest laundry items are laundered and returned on time to meet operation requirements. • Develop and prepare tailor-made image/look requested by other departments if necessary. • Ensure all uniforms are maintained to achieve required employee uniform standards. • Makes rounds and inspections to ensure that laundry personnel are performing required duties, appropriate laundry procedures are being rendered, and quality control measures are continually maintained. • Ensures that established infection control and universal precaution practices are followed in the Laundry Department. • Records critical incidents and guest complaints. Discusses, propose and implements solutions. • Assist in maximizing linen flow through the facility in reducing losses and costs. • Maintain accurate records of all linens delivered and sends information to necessary areas to evaluate usage and control costs. • Prepares, checks and signs all invoices and requisition. • Prepares annual training plan and oversees implementation of training programs according to plan. • Reviews daily & monthly production reports, as well as department productivity program and ensure goals are met. • Ensures all equipment is always in proper working condition. • Develop a regular maintenance plan with Engineering team & vendor to ensure all departmental equipment are well maintained to minimize malfunction. • Ensures safe working habits and correct storage of chemicals. • Controls the use of all chemicals and supplies to limit wastage. • Ensures cleanliness, hygiene & safety standards of all machines and equipment. • Reports accidents, injuries, unsafe work conditions and/or security issues to supervisors. • Interact with department and team members, management, and contractors professionally and positively. • Encourage good relationships, promote team spirit, and ensure effective two-way and multicultural communications. • Adhere to the company policies and procedures and comply with the Code of Conduct. • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements: • At least 4 - 5 years’ supervisory level experience including 2 years’ management level experience in laundry & wardrobe operations in 5-star luxury hotel / or large-scale laundry setup • High School graduate; GED; or above • Equivalent professional training is preferred • Excellent interpersonal / presentation skills • Experience in managing budgets, revenue proposals and forecasting results • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve high level of performance and exceed targets • Responsible self-starter, capable of handling multi-faced projects and of working under pressure • Proactive and innovative problem solver • Proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Team player, who values teamwork, has good team building skills and is able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees • Able to work on flexible shifts including overnight, weekends and holidays on rotation basis • Fluent in English • Ability to speak Cantonese or Mandarin is an advantage • Self-motivated, well-organized, responsible, friendly and polite with excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Team player who responds quickly to demands and thrives in a high-pressure work environment. • Able to multi-task.
