| Job Title: | Civil Engineering Technicians |
| Job Duties: | Job Brief: Apply theory and principles of civil engineering in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of structures and facilities under the direction of engineering staff or physical scientists. Duties: •Read and review project blueprints to determine dimensions of structures •Confer with their supervisors about preparing plans and evaluating field conditions •Inspect project sites and evaluate contractors’ work in order to detect problems with a design •Help to ensure that projects conform to design specifications and applicable codes •Develop plans and estimate costs for installing systems and operating facilities •Prepare reports and document project activities and data •Draft detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects and to ensure conformance to specifications. •Create graphical representations of civil structures. •Calculate dimensions, square footage, profile and component specifications, and material quantities using calculator or computer. •Estimate technical or resource requirements for development or production projects. •Read and review project blueprints and structural specifications to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements. •Review technical documents to plan work. •Confer with supervisor to determine project details such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions. •Confer with technical personnel to prepare designs or operational plans. •Inspect facilities or sites to determine if they meet specifications or standards. •Report maintenance problems occurring at project site to supervisor and negotiate changes to resolve system conflicts. •Confer with other personnel to resolve design or operational problems. •Develop plans and estimate costs for installation of systems, utilization of facilities, or construction of structures. •Estimate operational costs. •Prepare detailed work plans. •Prepare reports and document project activities and data. |

| Qualification Requirements: | Requirements: •High School diploma or equivalent of 24 months of related experience preferred •Able to report to work on time for your scheduled start time •Able to follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment •Maintain a professional positive attitude. •Proficiency with specialized tools and equipment; customer service, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills •Be able to work in offices, where they help civil engineers plan and design projects. •Able to be in the job site where a construction project is taking place, in order to test materials or inspect the project. |
