| Job Duties: | The Cook is responsible for the preparation of meals in accordance with company standards, menu specifications and production schedules. The Cook is also responsible for overseeing the Kitchen Helpers in preparation of meals, while meeting required safety, hygiene and quality standards. • Assists in the activities of the kitchen staff engaged in proper cleaning, cutting, marinating, seasoning and cooking of food items. Maintain programs to ensure high levels of sanitation, hygiene and safety are carried out in all food production areas. Measure and mix ingredients to standard recipes/specifications using a variety of utensils and equipment. Is familiar with all kitchen equipment, utensils and machinery. Maintains equipment in clean and good working order. Assist in inventory duties when needed. Set up daily work place according to job orders. Ensure quality and consistency according to specifications and recipes. Taste and evaluate food. Utilize left over food and ensure proper rotation, labeling and dating. Prepare food for staff canteen. Assist dish out area, ensure quality and quantity are according to company and airline specification. Ensure proper chilling time according to flight schedules. Responsibilities may also include preparation of recipes and menus. Performs other duties as required by the mission of the company. |
