| Job Duties: | Pack or package by hand a variety of products for retail. Responsible for the proper stocking and rotation of merchandise in the produce or meat section to ensure freshness and high quality. Wrap, weigh, label and count fresh vegetables and fruits and meat. Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met. Maintains department cleanliness, and provides customer service. Assists with ordering, receiving, stocking and display of produce and related products. Ensure fruits and vegetable freshness, quality and availability on the display area. Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables to prepare for the display area. Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage. Prepare and place fruits and vegetable and meat in display counter, so they will appear attractive and catch the shopper's eye. Maintains knowledge of produce, provides information to customers regarding use and preparation. Remove completed or defective products, placing it into its designated areas. Operate digital scales. Maintain excellent personal hygiene and cleanliness in working area. |
