Job Title: Safety Manager
Job Duties: Ensure the well-being of people and property. Keep work environments, building and people safe from harm. Aim to lower costs of insurance and comply with laws and regulations related to health and safety. Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices; Maintains safety files and records; Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented; Conducts post accident investigation and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management; Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs; Assist and maintain environmental reports including Storm water permits, waste water, deep-well permit, etc; Oversees and assures quantity and quality of the work flow; Coordinates the work by determining priority, scheduling, and assigning work, and overseeing the work of lower-level Construction Safety Inspectors

Qualification Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree preferably in mechanical, chemical, electrical, bio-mechanical or industrial engineering with focus in Safety management or environmental health and safety; Six years of experience in continuous heavy commercial or industrial construction, including two years as a journey-level skilled trades worker; Knowledge of OSHA standards with regard to construction; Ability to train, influence and motivate team members; Ability to prioritize, organize, and coordinate the work of the Safety Unit; Ability to assign work and explain instructions to lower-level Construction Safety Inspectors.
