| Job Duties: | Examine photographic images for obvious imperfection prior to platemaking; Operate presses to print proofs of plates; Monitor printing quality to ensure that it is adequate; Duplicate printed materials on film according to customer specification using photographic equipment and handtools; Examine unexposed photographic plates to detect flaws or foreign particles prior to printing; Reads work order to determine processes, techniques, equipment, and materials required; Sets camera control to regulate exposure time; Examine developed reprint for defects; Strips photographic negatives from film base using art layout, blueprint or handtools; Mounts final platemaking device to prepare photo-engraving plates ready for printing; Set-up press equipment and prepare materials ready for printing; Do other duties and/or assists in the production related-matter, as needed. |
