| Job Duties: | Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems. Oversee the daily performance of computer systems. Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support. Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software. Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software. back to top Provide overall technical support in electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer hardware and software systems as needed by the company. Specific tasks: • Oversee the daily performance of computer systems. Manage backup, security and user help systems. • Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements. Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems. • Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and staff for various projects to develop and/or improve systems as may be required by SMA’s operation. • Provide users with technical support for computer problems. Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software. • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications. • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities. • Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support. • Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service. • Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software. • Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery. • Evaluate data processing proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements. • Stay abreast of advances in technology. • Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor. |

| Qualification Requirements: | Require training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree. Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these occupations. These occupations usually involve using communication and organizational skills to coordinate, supervise, manage, or train others to accomplish goals. • Associates degree in Computer Information Technology or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree highly preferred. • With at least 2 years work experience as IT Specialist, Computer Support Specialist, Computer Technician or equivalent. • Must be flexible with respect to work schedule and willing to assist and support others within the company when needed. It may include working weekends and holidays. • Flexibility to travel to other islands to provide technical assistance should the need arise. • Desirable traits: Highly motivated, good attendance record, dependable. |
