Job Title: AVIONICS TECHNICIAN
Job Duties: Test electronic instruments, using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters. Interpret flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and performance problems. Assemble components, such as electrical controls and junction boxes, and install software. Install instrument panels, using hand tools, power tools, and soldering irons. Repair or replace malfunctioning components. Keep records of maintenance and repair work. Perform various troubleshooting and evaluation of aircraft avionics systems. Removal and installation of panels and components, and repair work. Perform a variety of maintenance/basic electrical projects. Work from written and verbal instructions and drawings and equipment manuals. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Inspect, repair, modify in compliance with policies, manuals, procedures, and requirements. Ensure strict compliance to all FAA Air directives, service bulletins and maintenance alerts. Recommend appropriate action depending on maintenance findings. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned.

Qualification Requirements: Associate's Degree or Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and/or Aeronautical Engineering program. FCC license or NCATT certification or an equivalent foreign license. Four (4) years experience in an avionics/electrical career field; or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and two (2) years related experience. Must be skilled in the use of specialized aircraft testing equipment. Must be able to troubleshoot, maintain and repair basic aircraft wiring. Able to work any shift (day, night, graveyard, split). SKILLS: *Observational skills. Mechanics and technicians must recognize engine noises, read gauges, and collect other information to determine whether an aircraft’s systems are working properly. ABILITIES: *Detail oriented. Mechanics and technicians need to adjust airplane parts to exact specifications. For example, they often use precision tools to tighten wheel bolts to a specified tension. *Dexterity. Mechanics and technicians need to coordinate the movement of their fingers and hands in order to grasp, manipulate, or assemble parts. *Strength. Mechanics and technicians may carry or move heavy equipment or aircraft parts, climb on airplanes, balance, and reach without falling.
