Job Title: Power Plant Technician
Job Duties: Adjust controls to generate specified electrical power or to regulate the flow of power between generating stations and substations. See more occupations related to this task. Qualification Requirements: Individual shall possess a H.S. diploma or GED equivalent. Must be proficient in the use of the English language in both oral and written form. A Minimum of a few months to One (1) year experience working with generator equipment, associated power panels and automotive repair. Operate the emergency generators both manually and automatically. Perform routine and higher level maintenance and repair maintenance on generators and power panels. Perform routine maintenance on a variety of vehicles to include tune up, brake replacement, overall ensure the vehicles operate in optimum condition. A minimum of two years experience maintaining the gas and diesel power vehicles. Able to complete all routine inspections and repairs on company vehicles. Perform other duties as the Facilities Lead or Site Manager directs. Some previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is usually needed. For example, a teller would benefit from experience working directly with the public.Employees in these occupations need anywhere from a few months to one year of working with experienced employees. A recognized apprenticeship program may be associated with these occupations.These occupations often involve using your knowledge and skills to help others.
