Job Title: Pastry Cook Helper
Job Duties: The Pastry Cook Helper is responsible in assisting the Pastry Cook with pastry goods as well as assist with the daily operations of the pastry shop. Set up and breaks down Magellan buffet pastry o station according to set standards Prepares plated pastries for the buffet according to o standards and customer requests,. Bakes and re-heats hot dessert items and other foods for the Buffet. Ensures accurate completion of daily temperature of fridges and freezer. Refill and keeps pastry buffet line full and presentable at all times. Assists in the setup and break down of banquet events or other internal PIC event. Maintains a high degree of sanitation in work station. Keeps food area free of debris and trash at all times. Reports to work on time. Communicates with pastry chef or supervisor when there are product shortages. Breaks down and stores daily food and supply deliveries. Assists in monitoring products in the freezer, walk-ins, and storerooms to ensure freshness and availability. Ensures proper FIFO procedures are followed when storing daily deliveries and pastry finished products. Monitors food items, checks food temperatures, and changes food items when necessary. Ensures thorough communication between shifts. Performs all other duties as assigned by pastry supervisor or chef de partie
High School Diploma Required? Undetermined
Qualification Requirements: Need anywhere from a few months to a year of related experience with bread making, pastry making and cake decorating. Must have previous experience in high volume production including large banquets, functions and special events. High School Diploma or higher is required. Must be able to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
