Job Title: | Golf Course Assistant Superintendent |
Job Duties: | Assist the Superintendent or operations manager in daily operation and over all maintenance of a 18 hole golf course, chemical building, storage facility, irrigation pump and pump house and surrounding perimeter. Establish and implement preventive maintenance schedule for all the equipment used in the golf course. Reports directly to the golf course superintendent or operations manager and may serve in the superintendent capacity during his/her absence. Analyze, determine and supervise pesticides applications, fertilizers and soil conditions and herbicides and surroundings acreages. Participate in the operation of pumps and in the maintenance of the irrigation and drainage system. Schedule and supervise staff to achieve the most efficient utilization of the equipment. Implement and organized cleanliness in the working area. Prepare schedule for the staff depending on work priorities, equipment availability or weather conditions. Monitor daily work activity to ensure instructions are followed. Assist the department staff in preparing incident report if necessary. Prepare the department payroll timesheets and submit it to the superintendent or operations manager for approval. Responsible in the inventory of the supplies of tools, equipment or materials to ensure that sufficient supplies are available and items are in usable conditions. Assist in establishing and enforcing operating procedures and work standards that ensure adequate performance and personnel safety. Perform other task as determined and assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent or Operations Manager. |

Qualification Requirements: | Degree in Agronomy or equivalent.At least five or ten years of work experience in the related field. Full understanding of licensing responsibilities and environmental health standards. Requires advanced knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management practices; a working knowledge of golf facility construction principles, practices and methods; and a thorough understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf. Requires excellent oral and written communication and knowledge in the game of golf. May require current certificate or licensing as pesticide applicator. Computer literate. Must be able to work under the sun, can stand for prolonged period of time and can lift at least 50lbs. Willing to work in flexible shifts, days, evening, weekends and holidays. |
