| Job Duties: | Performs any combination of following duties to maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition: Washes and peels vegetables, using knife or peeling machine. May cook or apportion foods or perform other minor duties to prepare food. Works as back up to Food Preparer. Maintains high standards of safety, team work with other workers. Keeps the display/transaction counters, floor, food, clean.Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by use of handtruck.. Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks. Washes pots, pans, and trays by hand. Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine. Polishes silver, using burnishing-machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth. Sweeps and mop floors. Segregate and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers. Steam-cleans or hoses-out garbage cans. Loads or unloads trucks picking up or delivering supplies and food. Must work as Kitchen porter or kitchen runner as well. Serves customers. Establish or identify prices of goods, and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners. Does reports for the day’s sales. |
