Job Title: A/C Refrigeration Mechanic/Technician
Job Duties: Install and repairs, air-condition/refrigeration systems according to blue print and engineering specifications, using knowledge of air-condition/refrigeration structural layout, and functions and design of components, and to form other related duties as assigned. Capable of reading schematic diagram, can work on electrical control and air quality, perform a wide array of duties, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot centralized A/C and cooling tower including all related equipment. This position is responsible for maintaining the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration equipment for the hotel and employee housing by making necessary repairs and conducting preventative maintenance according to established refrigeration guidelines. Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments. Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system. Test lines, components, and connections for leaks. Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components, using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment. Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems. Braze or solder parts to repair defective joints and leaks. Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming. Keep records of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions. Install expansion and control valves, using acetylene torches and wrenches. Install wiring to connect components to an electric power source.

Qualification Requirements: Require post-secondary instruction from technical and trade schools or community colleges that offer programs in air-conditioning and refrigeration or and associate's degree. Completion of an apprenticeship program or 1-2 of experience. Able to install and repair industrial and commercial refrigeration systems. Must be able to work a variable schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends.
