| Job Duties: | Prepare legal documents and research legal precedent. Conduct research to support legal proceeding, to formulate a defense or to initiate legal action. Prepare affidavits or other documents such as legal correspondence. Organize and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing system. Prepare for trial by performing tasks such as organizing exhibits. Prepare legal documents, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, and real estate closing statements. Organize appointments, court hearings, deadlines/due dates, client files and site visitation. Perform research using the Internet and traditional legal resources, books/manuals. Interview clients, draft agreement, draft letters, coordinate with other law offices, coordinate with experts, coordinate with the Court, coordinate with government agencies and private entities. Assist lawyers by investigating facts. Meet with clients and other professionals to discuss details of case. File pleadings with court clerk. Gather and analyze research data. Investigate facts and law of cases and search pertinent sources, such as public records to determine causes of action and to prepare cases. Call upon witnesses to testify at hearing. Coordinate related activities including delivery of subpoenas. |
