Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant
Job Duties: Performs certified nursing assistant duties in support of the Clinic's Optometrists and/or, as assigned to an oculist or Registered Nurse. Responsible for conducting pretesting and special testing (e.g. Visual Fields, Fundus Photography, Slit Lamp Photography, BSCN, OCT) using optical instruments and equipment (e.g. auto refractor, lensometry, tonometry and topography). Process patient's information, retrieve patient's records and prepares preliminary case history including medical conditions, prepares referrals, work/school excuse letters, written prescription and correspondences for providers to sign. Checks visual acuities, intra ocular pressure measurement, photopter, color vision and eye drop instillation. Conducts inventory of supplies. Performs screening for occupational health services. Respond to the needs of patients and perform related duties or tasks as assigned or required.

Qualification Requirements: Associate Degree in Nursing or High School Diploma is required. NMI Board of Nursing requires Nursing Assistant to be licensed and certified. Must have one to two years of work experience. Must have high standard of patient care. Knowledge and able to provide Diabetes Self-Management Education. Good communication skills and can compose correspondence. Can work under minimum supervision. Be able to multi-task. Must have Self-Transportation. Must have specialized knowledge in computer programs relating to health care operations (medical billing, patient electronic records and schedules)' Experience in Orthoptics and pleoptics is essentials.
