| Job Duties: | Position x-ray equipment and adjust controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance. Use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff. Position patient on examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by physician. Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer generated methods. Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation. Operate radiographic imaging equipment and accessory devices to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Perform daily radiology procedures (i.e. general, surgical, portables, fluoroscopic, CT and specials). Apply knowledge of radiation physics and radiation safety to limit exposure to ionizing radiation. Evaluate accuracy and technical quality of images. Evaluate and assesses Quality Assurance Tests for the different modalities. Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients, self and healthcare team. Set up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready. Prepare, position and immobilize patients for imaging procedures, selecting appropriate exposure techniques/factors and evaluating quality of radiographs. Explain X-ray procedures to patients Assist with monitoring, testing, and reporting of various daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual quality assurance programs. Prepare processor chemistry and perform necessary maintenance. Evaluate, maintain, order, and stock inventory and keep supplies current and replenished. Interact and communicate with physicians and staff members in a professional manner and with patients in a caring way. Perform any necessary reports, clerical duties, scheduling, filing, research, administration, etc, as needed and/or assigned. Perform other related duties, shifts, on-call as needed and/or assigned. |

| Qualification Requirements: | Bachelor’s degree or graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology Program. Three to four years experience preferably in hospital setting with multi-modality experience in two of the following: radiology, ultrasound or computed tomography. CNMI license required; certified and trained in radiology, ultrasound and computed tomography. Ability to work with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. |
