| Job Duties: | Repairs and overhauls electrical system in automotive vehicles and heavy equipments. Confers with customer to determine nature of malfunction. Determines malfunction of electrical system by visual inspection and by the use of various testing devices. Adjusts ignition timing and measures and adjusts distributor, breaker-point gaps, using dwell meter or thickness guage. Tests and repairs starters, generators, solinoid valves and distribuotrs. Repairs or replaces defective wiring in ignition, lighting airconditioning and safety control system, using elcetrician's handtools. Rebuild electrical units such as starters, generators, alternators and door controls. May estimate cost of repairs based on parts and labor charges. Maybe designated according to specialty as Electrical Repairs, Internal Combustion Engines. |
