| Job Duties: | Take orders and serve food and beverages to patrons at tables in dining establishment. Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. Collect payments from customers. Write patron’s food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff. Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes. Take orders from patrons for food or beverages. Examine trays to ensure that they contain required items. Place food servings on plates or trays according to orders or instructions. Monitor food distribution, ensuring that meals are delivered to the correct recipients and that guidelines, such as those for special diets, are followed. Load trays with accessories such as eating utensils, napkins, or condiments. Clean or sterilize dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment,or facilities. |
