| Job Duties: | This is routine heavy manual work performed in the laundry of an institution maintained by the company. The major function is the safe and efficient operation of the heavy laundry equipment in the cleaning of all types of linens, clothes, etc. Supervision may be given over residents of the institution who are engaged in similar work. Detailed procedures are laid down for the incumbent to follow and work is checked for conformance to institutional standards. Sorts, classifies and processes soiled laundry. Operates heavy laundry equipment such as the tumblers and the extractors, loading and unloading laundry into and out of the machines. Determines the proper washroom formula to apply in a particular run, adds the formula to the washing. Sorts out the clean laundry and delivers it to the wards. Performs other duties as assigned. |
